We’ve gathered the most common inquiries to help you understand everything you need to know
What services does Neff Machine offer?
We offer a range of manufacturing and design services, including precision CNC machining (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling), rapid prototyping, TIG Welding and Fabrication Services and CAD/CAM design assistance. We can handle everything from machining a single prototype part to producing small production runs, and we work with a variety of materials (metals and plastics). Essentially, if you need something designed, prototyped, or machined with high quality, we can do it or guide you in the right direction.
What materials can you machine?
We work with many materials. Common metals include aluminum (6061, 7075, etc.), steels (including alloy steels and stainless steels like 303, 304, 316), brass, copper, and titanium. On the plastics side, we often machine ABS, Delrin (POM), polycarbonate, acrylic, nylon, PEEK, and others. If you need a material that we haven’t mentioned, feel free to ask – we can likely source and machine it, or advise on a similar alternative. We can also work with materials you provide, if you have a specialty stock or extrusion that needs machining.
Do you accept one-off jobs and small orders?
Absolutely! A big part of our mission is to support one-off and prototype projects. Whether you need just a single piece or a small batch (say 10, 50, 100 pieces), we’re happy to help. There’s no strict minimum order quantity. We understand that innovation often starts with small runs and unique parts, and we’ve structured our shop to accommodate that flexibility. Of course, if you eventually need higher volumes, we can often scale up or assist you in transitioning to mass production methods when the time comes.
How do I request a quote or get started?
Getting a quote is easy. You can click on “Request a Quote” or “Upload Your Part” on our website to send us your project details. Typically, you’ll provide a CAD file (like a STEP or STL file) or drawings of the part(s) and some information like material, quantity, and any specific requirements or deadlines. If you’re not sure about some details (material or tolerances, for example), you can just describe what you need and our team will help fill in the blanks. Once we receive your info, we’ll review it and reply, usually within 24-48 hours, with a quote or any questions we have. You can also always call or email us directly if you prefer a more personal discussion from the get-go.
How do you handel IP?
We respect your intellectual property and treat all client designs with confidentiality. If you require an NDA, we are more than willing to sign one – we have standard NDAs we can provide, or we’ll review and sign your company’s NDA. We do not share your models or drawings with anyone outside our organization. Within Neff Machine, only the team members working on your project will have access to your files, and we store data securely. Many of our clients are developing new products or proprietary technology, and we operate with the understanding that privacy is part of our job.
Can you work from a sketch example?
We can work with whatever you have. If you have a fully detailed CAD model, great – that speeds things up. But if you only have a concept sketch or an idea, that’s fine too. Our CAD/CAM team can assist in turning your sketch or description into a proper design. We’ve helped clients who came in with just a rough hand-drawn sketch on paper, and we modeled it for them, then proceeded to prototype it. There may be an additional design fee for that service depending on complexity, but we’ll make sure you’re aware of any costs up front. Our goal is to lower the barriers for you to get a part made, even if you’re not a CAD expert.
Whether you’re ready to start your next project or just have a few questions, we're here to help.
